We are seeking to expand our fabulous staff team at Kids World Goldthorpe
Are you seeking a new challenge, with a company who is passionate about giving all children the best start in life?
We have a vacancy for an early year’s practitioner. The position on offer is working 30 hours per week on a term time only basis (39 weeks) Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:45am & 6:30pm on a rota basis. You will have a minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare with experience of working in a Quality Pre School environment but most of all ……..
You will be someone who is dynamic, has the ability to work as part of a team, be able to use your initiative and time manage your day effectively to ensure the smooth running of our nursery.
We are also looking for someone who….
* Has a warm smiling face that makes every child feel special.
* Feels comfortable telling everybody in the same room as them that they are going to the toilet!
* Doesn’t have to have the ability to be able to sing in tune but must have the confidence to sing out of tune in front of a crowd.
* Must possess the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people. This is of the utmost importance.
* Must have a high level of comfort talking about bodily functions.
* Must have the ability to pretend to eat playdough creations realistically. This is an essential requirement along with drinking numerous cups of pretend tea.
* Must be prepared to have lots of fun in the workplace. Laughter is something you can expect to engage in for a large part of your working day.
* Loves being outside come rain or shine. At Kids World we love the outdoor environment!
* Finally, you must be prepared to feel loved, special and important to many young children and their families. There is simply no other job quite like it.

Deputy Nursery Manager
(Wombwell, Barnsley )
40hrs All Year Round
Overall management responsibility for the nursery in the absence of the Manager
Assist the Manager in providing effective day to day management of the nursery
To be responsible for the efficient day-to-day running of the nursery and overall delivery of a high-quality service
To ensure that the nursery provides a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors, at all times
To ensure that the nursery plans an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that enables children to make individual progress
To ensure the nursery plans appropriately for children aged under 3 years
To ensure the nursery meets Ofsted requirements at all times In conjunction with the Manager, to manage, supervise and support the nursery staff. To work with other professionals in the local area for the benefit of children and families
To ensure all staff understand and work to nursery policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies
In conjunction with the Manager to take responsibility for planning, which ensures each child is working towards the early learning outcomes
To organise the key worker system
To conduct staff appraisals as appropriate and to identify those staff training needs
To ensure records are properly maintained, e.g. daily attendance register, accident and incident book, risk assessments
To liaise closely with parents/carers, informing them about the Nursery and its curriculum, exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parents’ involvement with learning stories and nursery life.
To work in partnership with senior management to update and review policies and procedures in line with Nursery development and self-evaluation
To take responsibility for the completion of SEF forms and ensure they are kept up to date
To keep operational action plans up to date and ensure that plans are carried out
To ensure that the nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others; that equipment is safe, standards of hygiene are high, safety procedures are implemented at all times and fire drills are regularly practised.
To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with the nurseries aims and objectives

Early Years Apprentice

Kids World Childcare has opportunities available, and offer you the chance to ‘ Earn as you Learn’whilst gaining a nationally recognised qualification. The best part? There are no classes to attend!
The moment your journey begins as an apprentice:
You become an employed member of staff
You will be paid an hourly rate.
You will work towards gaining a full qualification – without having to attend classroom based lessons. (Instead you will complete assessments and the tutor will visit you in nursery.
This is an apprenticeship role with an apprenticeship pay grade.
Core hours of work are between 7.30am – 6.30pm Monday to Friday.
30 – 40 hours per week All Year Round
Throughout your role you are not alone.
We offer you full training, support, guidance and are here to help you progress your career. You even have a personal assessor/tutor assigned to you from the moment you start your journey as an apprentice.
Your role will include:
Working with children between the ages of 0-5 years, organising activities, being pro-active with the help and care carried out within the early years sector.
Assisting and meeting the personal/emotional needs of individual children – Changing nappies, feeding, caring and establishing a relationship with children.
Work (under supervision) providing all aspects of care/support to children, ensuring they take part with day- to- day learning and play activities.
Ensure that the setting is safe, clean and well presented.
Collaborate with colleagues ensuring the highest standards of work are carried out and are provided throughout your role in a positive manner.
To contribute to a high quality caring environment for children. This includes creating a warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere in which the children can develop emotionally, socially and educationally through individual attention and group activities.
Attend team meetings and contribute relevant ideas.
Be able to understand and implement the setting’s policies and procedures.
Contribute towards an effective and supportive team environment.
Throughout this role, you will gain extensive knowledge and experience within the working environment which will set you up for a great career upon completion. This will hopefully lead to permanent employment within the early learning year’s sector or even continue to the next level, undertaking further training.
